Bio:
Deborah (Deb) Kazenelson Deane is an accomplished corporate communications executive with more than three decades of experience leading global communications strategy across biopharmaceutical and healthcare organizations. She is recognized for driving enterprise alignment across product development and launches spanning rare disease, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, oncology, and technology-enabled healthcare.
Deb currently serves as Executive Director, Corporate Communications Lead at Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc., where she oversees corporate and internal communications, advocacy support, data and pipeline communications, and communications support for brand, marketing, and investor relations. Since joining Acadia five years ago, she has led media relations and executive visibility initiatives, and played a key role in the launch and global approvals of DAYBUE for Rett syndrome, the Yours, Truly campaign with StoryCorps and provided strategic communications support for FDA and regulatory milestones and the More to Parkinson’s (MTP) campaign.
Previously, Deb held senior leadership roles at Syneos Health, Edelman Public Relations, Hill & Knowlton, and Paine PR, advising global biotech and pharmaceutical companies on corporate reputation, launch communications, executive positioning, and crisis and issues management. Earlier in her career, she founded DKLA Communications, a boutique consultancy specializing in healthcare, technology, and public health communications.
Deb is bilingual and brings deep expertise in executive visibility, messaging strategy, media and spokesperson training, and cross-functional leadership. She holds a B.S. in Psychobiology and an M.S.P.H. from UCLA.
