Bio:
Joaquin Martinez is Vice President of Marketing at Xeris Pharmaceuticals, where he leads commercial marketing across a growing portfolio focused on specialty and rare diseases. In this role, Joaquin is driving the next phase of Xeris’ commercial transformation, strengthening customer engagement models, advancing data- and insight-driven personalization, and aligning field, digital, and omnichannel strategies to deliver meaningful, compliant experiences for healthcare professionals and patients.
With more than 20 years of experience across pharmaceuticals and vaccines, Joaquin has held senior leadership roles spanning Marketing, Sales, Operations, Strategy, R&D, and Manufacturing. Prior to joining Xeris, he was at GSK, where he led U.S. marketing teams responsible for the commercialization of leading respiratory brands and supported GSK’s re-entry into antibiotics. His global experience includes leadership roles across the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific, giving him a broad perspective on customer engagement in both DTC and non-DTC markets.
Joaquin is recognized for building high-performing teams, modernizing marketing capabilities, and translating complex data and technology into practical, human-centered engagement strategies. He brings a strong focus on relevance, empathy, and outcomes—moving beyond “next best action” toward creating cohesive, trusted customer experiences across touchpoints.
He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, a Master of Engineering Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.
